We all have many inner parts, with different
interests, strengths, and challenges.
One of these parts is our inner healthy part, which strives to be well in mind, body, and spirit. When life events pull us away from this healthy part, we can have difficulty coping with stress, finding solutions, and moving forward. We may feel lost, uncertain, or overwhelmed with distress or other negativity. It may seem as if we will never find a balance.
Doesn't it make sense to strive to look at things in the healthiest way possible? Putting the past in the past where it belongs, making peace with it, and finding peace of mind are worth putting time, energy, and effort into. No matter what is going on in our lives, we can discover and cultivate healthier perspectives that help us feel the way we want to feel.
This is very different than turning a negative into a positive. It's about shifting towards an objective, accepting, and self-compassionate perspective, and then, learning to navigate the gray space between them. |
